Trumpet Concerto (Originally in D) by Laue is a bright and cheerful Baroque concerto in three movements, offering an engaging combination of melodic elegance, lively rhythms and expressive musical writing. Originally composed in D major, this edition provides a solo part for Bb trumpet with piano reduction.

This attractive concerto captures the character and vitality of Baroque trumpet music, with three contrasting movements that provide opportunities for both technical development and expressive performance. Its lively musical ideas and appealing melodies make it a rewarding addition to the trumpet repertoire.

Made widely available for the first time in this modern edition, the concerto offers trumpet players an opportunity to explore a lesser-known work from the classical trumpet repertoire. The Bb trumpet part and accompanying piano reduction make the music suitable for study, rehearsal and concert performance.

Reviewing the concertos by Laue and Luigi Otto, Music Teacher magazine praised them as delightful alternatives to the familiar Haydn and Hummel concertos, recognising their value in broadening the trumpet repertoire.
